Prayer for the Week

Lord, please help me remember that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Give me the grace to trust in your will and your plan. Grant me peace as You work in my life. Heavenly Father, look upon your daughter with care and instill in her a desire to glorify You in all she does.

In the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, Amen

Daughters of the KING

I just got off of an outstanding girls retreat. How lovely to back away from the world and spend some quality time with the Lord.

The theme of our retreat was about being daughters of the King. It was amazing and there really aren't even words to describe it. We got to just be loved by our Father and it was good for the soul. I laughed, cried, and recharged my heart.

While I have so very much to say on the subject of femininity, modesty, etc., that shall be saved for another time.

For now these are some things I don't ever want to forget. You shouldn't either.

Shoebox Saturday: The Desk

I am given 3 pieces of furniture: a twin bed, a dresser, and a desk. The bare essentials? Yes. 

This weekend's post is devoted to my desk.

Ain't it beautiful?

It stores my makeup too! Everything here must be multifunctional. 

I have a cork board that I stuck to the back of the desk which holds fun little mementos. Also shown is my jewelry box (I love love love love it.) And my binders. I have 1 for Mon/Wed/Fri, 1 for Tues/Thurs, 1 for Spanish (which is everyday), and a few for specific projects (aka costume design ID's & Spanish HW). 

Right next to my desk is my calendar, initials from Anthro (gift from Roomie... she's the sweetest!!), and Baylor cross.

That's pretty much it! I would show you what's in the drawers.... but they are the farthest thing from photo ready! Maybe one day I will wow y'all with my organization. Haha here's hoping! I am also planning on getting a cute chair slipcover and cushion.

So it's been raining here for two days...which means my Hunters came out to play!

Week 4: What I Wore

The good Lord must have heard my grumbling last week because He sent us some cooler weather! Here's what I did with it:

Little background into my outfits for school: I have already told y'all that I went to high school at the Academy. But I don't think I have mentioned that they had uniforms. Oh and so did my middle school... and elementary school. So this is the first time in my entire life that I am picking out what I actually want to wear to school. I am having so much fun!

The Lovely Little Things

I have a love/hate relationship with Spanish. I think it is such a gorgeous language to know and yet it is so difficult to learn! 

Yesterday I was having a particularly annoying time with my homework. 

I am currently in accelerated Spanish 1. Basically it is 2 semesters of Spanish in one. It's nice because we get to skip the annoying gender/number/color situation, but a whole lot of extra work. We go through a chapter every 3 days, which means that I have a whole lot of work to do on my own. 

So after our first test, Dr. L updated the syllabus! We ended up having twice the ammount of hw that we were supposed to have. Last night at 1130, I was NOT amused. 

Today in class, Dr. L came in and said "Everyone ready for the weekend?" After hearing our very sleepy replies of "yessir!" He said, "Good, me too! Let's go get coffee."

 So my entire class went to the Starbucks in Moody and then got out of class early. 

Sometimes my teachers are awesome.

Fall!!

Okay so it has been 5 days of cool weather here... as in 5 days where we actually WANT to be outside.

The long walks to class are lovely, studying doesn't seem so bad from the tables by the CUB, and the Bear Trail calls my name.

It is incredibly early for Texas, considering we usually have 90 degree weather into October, but it is beginning to feel like fall!

I have been thinking about my favorite fall things:

1) Fall Fashion- My riding boots, sweaters, jeans, scarves.... ah its just too cozy for words.

2) The Pumpkin Spice Latte- (please forgive the reuse of this photo.... its the only one I have!!) I have posted twice, tweeted, and instagramed this bad boy. It is seriously the most delicious drink ever. Seriously.

3) The GORGEOUS weather. The changing leaves are magnificent.

4) Candy Corn- (And I know this isn't a picture of real candy corn but ohmygosh how cute is this little nugget?? He has been repinned 9 ways to Sunday :P) Growing up, fall was signified by my mother bringing home candy corn. It let us know it was time to start planning our Halloween costumes!
